Golden Brown Fried Cheese Ravioli

Cheese lovers, rejoice! Today, I’m excited to share my favorite recipe for Golden Brown Fried Cheese Ravioli. This delightful dish is perfect as an appetizer, snack, or even a main course, depending on your cravings. Not only is it delicious, but it’s also simple to make at home, and I can assure you that it will be a hit with your family and friends!

Let’s start with the ingredients you’ll need:

  • 1 package of cheese ravioli (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups of breadcrumbs (seasoned or plain)
  • Cooking oil (for frying)
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnishing)
  • Fresh herbs, like basil or parsley (optional, for garnishing)

Now that you have your ingredients ready, let’s probe the cooking process!

First, if you’re using frozen ravioli, ensure that it’s thawed or follow the cooking instructions on the package to get it ready. Once that’s done, it’s time to set up your breading station. I like to use three shallow bowls: one for flour, one for the beaten eggs, and the last one filled with breadcrumbs.

In the first bowl, add your all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, crack the eggs and beat them well until fully mixed. In the third bowl, dump in your breadcrumbs and set everything up neatly. This will help the process to go smoothly.

Next, it’s time to coat those ravioli. Begin by taking a ravioli and dipping it into the flour, ensuring it’s coated well on both sides. Shake off any excess flour before moving it to the bowl with the eggs. Make sure it’s fully submerged in the egg mixture, then allow the excess to drip off. Finally, transfer it to the breadcrumbs and press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. Place your coated ravioli on a plate and continue this process until all are breaded.

When they are all ready, heat up your oil in a frying pan over medium heat. You want to have at least half an inch of oil for proper frying. To check if the oil is ready, you can drop a small piece of breadcrumb into the oil; if it sizzles, you’re good to go!

Carefully add the ravioli into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. I usually fry them in batches. Fry each side for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn that attractive golden brown color. Once done, remove them with a slotted spoon and let them drain on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.

Finally, serve your Golden Brown Fried Cheese Ravioli with some warm marinara sauce on the side, and optionally sprinkle with some grated Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs for added flavor.

Enjoy every bite of your tasty creation! Feel free to experiment with different cheese fillings or seasoning in the breadcrumbs to make this dish your own. Happy cooking!
