You are about to launch on a delicious journey to make Cinnamon Sugar Sweet Potato Fries. These fries are not only a delightful twist on the classic fry but also a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors. When I first made them, I was amazed at how easy they were to prepare and how much they pleased my taste buds. So, let’s probe this enjoyable culinary adventure!

To get started, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg

The first step in creating these tasty fries is to prepare the sweet potatoes. I start by preheating my oven to 425°F (220°C). While the oven is heating, I wash and peel the sweet potatoes. After they are clean, I slice them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. Thickness matters here; if you cut them too thick, they won’t get crispy, and if they are too thin, they may burn.

Next, I place the cut sweet potato strips in a large bowl. I then drizzle the olive oil over them, tossing everything until the fries are evenly coated. This step ensures that they become crispy and flavorful during baking.

In a separate small bowl, I mix together the sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and if you’re feeling adventurous, a pinch of nutmeg. This combination will provide that sweet, aromatic flavor that pairs beautifully with the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes. I sprinkle this mixture over the fries and toss them again until they are generously coated.

Now, I spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spacing them out is vital to allow air to circulate around them and achieve maximum crispiness. Once everything is set up, I pop the baking sheet into the preheated oven.

I set a timer for about 20-25 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through the baking time to ensure they cook evenly. I keep an eye on them as they bake, and when they turn golden brown and crispy, I take them out of the oven.

After letting them cool for a minute or two, I can’t resist sampling a few! The Cinnamon Sugar Sweet Potato Fries are incredibly delicious and make for a delightful snack or side dish. I love serving them warm, perhaps with a side of honey or maple syrup for dipping. This dish is not only comforting but also a hit at gatherings and family dinners.

Enjoy making these fries, and I hope you love them as much as I do!
