Never mind, I guess those are just two completely different recipes. They bake at different temperatures, cook for different times, have different uses for the tortillas and one calls for taco seasoning and the other has individual spices. It was just confusing to see two recipes on the same page and I thought they were for the same thing…

The first is what the recipe considers a “large flour tortilla”. That can be 7, 10 or 12 inches, which will make a huge difference. And it would be incredibly helpful to have a picture of what the tortilla layering looks like — how much overlap is there among the tortillas and how much do they overlap the sides of the pan. This is even more confusing because the upper write-up (the wordy description) says to lay 6 of the 8 tortillas in the pan to start, then fold over the edges to cover, and the second write-up (the recipe) says to use 4 tortillas and put the other 4 on top. I have no idea how this is supposed to be put together.

I look forward to giving this a try for this fall’s football tailgating, but don’t feel I have enough information to give it a go yet.
