Lemon Drop Shot: Sharp Citrus Meets Sweet Celebration 🎉

Picture a tangy lemon blast balanced by a sweet sugar rim—it’s the kind of shot that instantly lifts the mood and brightens the night. The Lemon Drop Shot is refreshingly zesty, brilliantly sweet, and perfect for parties or celebrating life’s little moments.

Why I Love This Shot

It’s light, vibrant, and ultra-refreshing. The sugary rim makes each sip feel festive, while the lemon and vodka combo packs a punch in the best way. It’s easy to make, looks sharp, and feels like a mini celebration with every sip.

Ingredients

Sugared Rim (optional but festive):

  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp simple syrup

For Each Lemon Drop Shot:

  • 3 lemon wedges (plus extras if you’re using garnish)
  • 2½ oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice (about 2–3 lemons)

For a Large Batch:

  • 2 lemons, wedged
  • 1/3 cup simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (about 4 lemons)

Instructions

1. Sugared Rim

Pour simple syrup into a shallow dip bowl and sugar into another. Dip each shot glass rim first in syrup, then in sugar—this gives that sweet, sparkly edge.

2. Prep the Shot

Muddle 3 lemon wedges in a cocktail shaker for about 10 seconds. This releases that extra citrus aroma and tang.

3. Shake It Up

Add simple syrup, vodka, lemon juice, and ice. Shake for 10–15 seconds until chilled and the shaker feels cold.

4. Serve

Strain into the sugared-rim shot glasses. Garnish with a fresh lemon wedge if you want that extra flair!

5. Large‑Batch Version

Muddle lemon wedges in a pitcher, then stir in simple syrup, vodka, and lemon juice. Add ice and pour into glasses with sugared rims.

Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Use fresh lemon juice—nothing compares to that bright, real citrus flavor.
  • Chill your glasses beforehand to keep the shot colder, longer.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup.
  • Make your simple syrup in advance (1:1 water to sugar, simmer until dissolved) to save time.

When to Serve Lemon Drops

  • Perfect for parties and celebrations—bright, easy to drink, and eye-catching.
  • Great as a pre-dinner sipper or part of a fun cocktail flight.
  • Brilliant at bridal showers, girls’ nights, or casual hangouts.

Final Thoughts

The Lemon Drop Shot is proof that simple can be spectacular—its bright citrus pop and sugary rim make every sip feel like a celebration. Easy to prepare for two or a crowd, it’s a vibrant and festive addition to any gathering.
