This one-pan creamy garlic chicken pasta is the kind of weeknight dinner that feels rich and comforting without turning the kitchen into a project. Tender seared chicken, penne pasta, garlic, parmesan, broth, and cream all come together in one skillet for a cozy dinner with big flavor and minimal cleanup.

The best part is how the pasta cooks right in the sauce. As the penne simmers, it releases starch into the broth and cream, helping the sauce cling to every bite. Add golden chicken and a snowy finish of parmesan, and you have a simple chicken pasta recipe that tastes like something you would order from a little neighborhood Italian spot.

2 chicken breasts, sliced thin

12 oz penne pasta

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons chopped parsley, optional

How to Make One-Pan Creamy Garlic Chicken Pasta

Step 1: Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning.

Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken until golden and cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

Step 3: In the same pan, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.

Step 4: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir well, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Step 5: Add the penne pasta. Cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring often, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has reduced into a creamy sauce.

Step 6: Stir in the parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth, creamy, and slightly thickened.

Step 7: Slice the cooked chicken and place it back over the pasta.

Step 8: Finish with chopped parsley and extra parmesan, then serve warm.

Tips for the Best Creamy Pasta Sauce

The key to a smooth one-pan pasta sauce is patience. Keep the heat at a steady simmer, stir often, and give the pasta enough time to release starch into the broth and cream. That starch is what helps the sauce turn glossy instead of watery.

Use freshly minced garlic for the strongest flavor.

Do not boil the cream aggressively or the sauce can reduce too quickly.

Stir the parmesan in at the end so it melts smoothly.

Season in layers: chicken first, then the sauce near the end.

Let the finished pasta sit for a couple of minutes before serving.

Easy Variations

This creamy garlic chicken pasta is flexible, which makes it a great clean-out-the-fridge dinner. Stir in baby spinach at the end, add steamed broccoli, or toss in sauteed mushrooms after the garlic. For a spicy version, add crushed red pepper flakes or a little Cajun seasoning.

You can also swap the penne for rotini, rigatoni, shells, or farfalle. Smaller shapes may cook faster, while larger pasta shapes may need an extra splash of broth and a few more minutes.

What to Serve With It

This pasta is rich and creamy, so simple sides work best. Serve it with a crisp green salad, roasted broccoli, garlic bread, steamed green beans, or a light tomato cucumber salad.
Storage and Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Creamy pasta thickens as it chills, so reheat it gently with a splash of chicken broth, milk, or cream. Warm it in the microwave in short bursts or in a skillet over low heat, stirring until the sauce loosens and the chicken is hot.

Recipe Notes

Stir the pasta often while it simmers so it cooks evenly and does not stick to the bottom of the pan.

If the sauce gets too thick before the pasta is tender, add a small splash of broth or cream.

Freshly grated parmesan melts smoother than pre-shredded cheese.

For extra heat, add red pepper flakes with the garlic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different pasta shape?

Yes. Penne works well because it holds the creamy sauce, but rotini, rigatoni, shells, bow ties, or fettuccine can also work. Adjust the simmer time as needed.

Can I make this with rotisserie chicken?

Yes. Skip the chicken-searing step, make the garlic cream sauce, simmer the pasta, then stir in shredded rotisserie chicken near the end just long enough to warm it through.

How do I keep the sauce from getting too thick?

Add a small splash of chicken broth or cream if the pasta absorbs too much liquid before it is fully tender.

Can I add vegetables?

Absolutely. Spinach, broccoli, peas, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes all work well with the creamy garlic parmesan sauce.

Can I make it ahead?

This dish is best fresh, but leftovers reheat well. If making ahead, keep a little extra broth or cream on hand to loosen the sauce when reheating.

Final Thoughts

One-pan creamy garlic chicken pasta is creamy, garlicky, and ridiculous in the best way: simple ingredients, one skillet, big comfort-food energy, and zero regrets.

These Poor Man’s Viral Dot Cake Cups are for everyone who saw those adorable sprinkle-covered cake cups online and immediately thought, “Cute, but I’m not paying fancy bakery money for cake in a cup.”

So we’re making the budget version. She’s colorful. She’s crunchy. She’s dramatic. She knows she came from a boxed cake mix, but she’s still acting expensive.

What Makes It “Dot Cake”?

The viral version is usually a mini cake cup layered with soft cake and frosting, then finished with a heavy blanket of tiny round rainbow sprinkles, also called nonpareils. It is cute, nostalgic, spoonable, and made for that satisfying first scoop.

This is the broke-but-brilliant version.

Ingredients

1 box Funfetti cake mix

Eggs, oil, and water called for on the box

1 tub vanilla frosting or Funfetti frosting

1 to 2 tablespoons milk, optional

1 bottle rainbow nonpareil sprinkles

Clear plastic cups, small bowls, ramekins, or little jars

Instructions

1. Bake the cake

Make the Funfetti cake according to the box directions. Bake it in a 9×13 pan because we are not trying to make life harder than it needs to be.

Let the cake cool completely. Do not rush this part unless you want frosting soup, and nobody asked for that.

2. Crumble or cut the cake

Once cooled, break the cake into chunks or cut it into small circles if you want to be fancy. Crumbled cake works perfectly and honestly makes layering easier.

3. Fluff the frosting

Scoop the frosting into a bowl and stir it until smooth. Add a tiny splash of milk if it feels too thick. You want it spreadable, not runny.

4. Build the cups

Add a layer of cake to the bottom of each cup.

Add a spoonful of frosting.

Add another layer of cake.

Add another spoonful of frosting on top and smooth it out.

This does not need to be perfect. The sprinkles are coming in like a cute little cover-up crew.

5. Add the “dot” moment

Pour a thick layer of rainbow nonpareils over the top of each cup. Do not sprinkle timidly. This is the main character moment.

You want the whole top covered so it looks like the viral dot cakes people are scooping into online.

6. Chill before serving

Refrigerate the cups for 20 to 30 minutes so the frosting firms up and the sprinkle top gets that fun little crunch.

7. Serve with a spoon

Tap the spoon on top, crack into the sprinkle layer, scoop down through the frosting and cake, and act like you just invented joy in a cup.

Cheap Swaps

Use store-brand cake mix.

Use canned frosting.

Use any small cups you already have.

Use leftover cake scraps if you have them.

Use whipped topping mixed with frosting if you want it lighter.

Use chocolate cake, strawberry cake, or red velvet if Funfetti is not invited today.

Sassy Serving Note

These are perfect for birthdays, sleepovers, cookouts, TikTok-style dessert trays, or those moments when you want a bakery-looking treat without a bakery-looking receipt.

Fancy bakery who? We have sprinkles and confidence.

Some burger sauces taste like they came from a squeeze bottle. This one tastes like somebody cared enough to make the burger worth remembering.

Grandma’s secret burger sauce was never flashy. It did not need a fancy name, expensive ingredients, or some restaurant trick. It was the kind of sauce that showed up in a little bowl beside a plate of grilled burgers, sliced tomatoes, onions, pickles, and soft buns waiting by the stove. People would spread a little on the bottom bun, then add more before the top bun went on. By the time everyone sat down, somebody was already asking if there was extra.

The secret was not just that it was creamy. Plenty of burger sauces are creamy. The real magic was the balance. It had tang from pickles, a little sweetness, just enough mustard bite, and one small flavor booster that made it taste deeper than the usual ketchup-and-mayo mix. It made a plain burger taste like a backyard cookout, a diner burger, and an old family recipe all at once.

Why This Burger Sauce Works

The best burger sauces do not overpower the meat. That is where a lot of homemade sauces go wrong. Too much ketchup makes it taste sugary. Too much mustard makes it sharp. Too much relish makes it taste like pickle dip. Grandma’s version sits right in the middle.

It gives the burger moisture without making the bun soggy. It adds flavor without covering up the beef. It also works with grilled burgers, skillet burgers, smash burgers, turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and even leftover meatloaf sandwiches if you want to get old-school with it.

The secret ingredient is a small splash of pickle juice. Not a lot. Just enough to loosen the sauce and give it that tangy, old-fashioned burger-joint flavor. That little bit of brine wakes up the whole bowl.

Ingredients You Need

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish

1 teaspoon dill pickle juice

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

1 small pinch cayenne pepper, optional

1 teaspoon finely minced onion, optional but recommended

How to Make Grandma’s Secret Burger Sauce

Step 1: Add the mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard to a small mixing bowl. Stir until the sauce turns smooth and evenly colored.

Step 2: Add the sweet pickle relish, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne if using. Stir again until everything is fully combined.

Step 3: Fold in the finely minced onion if you want that old-fashioned cookout flavor. This is optional, but it gives the sauce a little fresh bite and makes it taste more homemade.

Step 4: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving. This resting time matters. The flavors need a chance to settle into each other. If you taste it immediately, it will be good. If you let it chill, it tastes like the sauce has been around forever.

Step 5: Stir once more before serving.

The Best Way to Use It on Burgers

Spread the sauce on both the bottom and top bun. That is the move people skip. A little on the bottom keeps the burger juicy from the first bite. A little on top ties together the lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and cheese.

For a classic burger, use it with American cheese, dill pickles, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, and a toasted bun. For a smash burger, spread it thin so it melts slightly into the crispy edges of the beef. For a thicker grilled burger, use a heavier spoonful so every bite gets sauce.

This sauce is also excellent as a dipping sauce for fries, potato wedges, onion rings, fried pickles, chicken tenders, and roasted potatoes. It would be right at home next to Easy Bacon-Wrapped Cheddar Hot Dogs or any of our grilling recipes.

Make-Ahead Tips

This sauce is better after it sits. Make it a few hours before dinner if you can. Overnight is even better.

Store it in an airtight container or small jar in the refrigerator. It will keep for about 5 to 7 days when properly chilled. Do not leave it sitting outside during a cookout for long periods, especially in hot weather. If serving outdoors, keep a small bowl out and leave the rest in the fridge or cooler.

If the sauce thickens too much after chilling, stir in another tiny splash of pickle juice until it reaches the texture you like.

Easy Variations

For a sweeter burger sauce, add 1/2 teaspoon sugar or a little extra sweet relish.

For a spicier sauce, add more cayenne or a few drops of hot sauce.

For a smokier sauce, increase the smoked paprika to 3/4 teaspoon.

For a tangier sauce, add another 1/2 teaspoon pickle juice or a tiny splash of vinegar.

For a more diner-style sauce, add 1 teaspoon finely chopped dill pickles along with the sweet relish.

What to Serve With It

This sauce belongs on burgers first, but do not stop there. Serve it with crispy fries, tater tots, onion rings, grilled chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers, patty melts, or fried chicken sliders.

It also works as a quick sandwich spread. Try it on roast beef sandwiches, leftover grilled chicken, or a cold burger wrap with lettuce and pickles. It gives simple leftovers that cookout-plate flavor without needing to fire up the grill again.

Why People Remember Sauces Like This

The burger itself matters, but sauce is what people remember when it hits right. It is the part that makes someone pause and ask, “What is on this?” That is the difference between a normal burger and one people talk about later.

Grandma’s sauce works because it tastes familiar and special at the same time. Nothing in it is hard to find. Nothing feels forced. It is just a smart little mix of pantry staples that turns basic burgers into something that feels like summer, paper plates, cold drinks, and somebody calling everyone to the table before the food gets cold.

For the Potatoes:

2 1/2 lbs 1.1 kg potatoes, thinly sliced (Yukon Gold or Russet work best)

For the Cream Sauce:

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 small onion finely chopped

3 cloves garlic minced

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups milk whole milk preferred

1 cup heavy cream

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika optional

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme optional

Before You Start

Read through the recipe once, gather everything, and prep anything that needs slicing, draining, shredding, or measuring. If the recipe uses pasta, noodles, pierogies, vegetables, or chicken, pay close attention to timing so the final texture stays tender instead of mushy or dry.

How to Make Easy Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

Step 1: Prepare the potatoes: Wash, peel (optional), and slice the potatoes into thin slices (about ⅛ inch). Try to keep the slices as even as possible for consistent cooking.

Step 2: Start the creamy sauce: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until soft. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 3: Build the roux: Sprinkle the flour into the pan and whisk continuously for 1 minute.

Step 4: Add the liquids: Slowly pour in the milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly to avoid any lumps. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the mixture is slightly thickened.

Step 5: Melt the cheese: Remove from heat and add the cheddar cheese, Parmesan, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Stir until the cheeses melt completely and the sauce becomes perfectly smooth.

Step 6: Layer in the crockpot: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker. Add an even layer of sliced potatoes to the bottom. Pour some of the cheese sauce over the potato layer. Repeat these layers until all the potatoes and sauce are used.

Step 7: Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours. The potatoes are done when they are tender and easily pierced with a fork.

Step 8: Rest before serving: Turn off the slow cooker and let the dish sit uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes. The sauce will thicken beautifully as it cools slightly. Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips for Best Results

Taste and adjust seasoning near the end, especially if using canned soup or seasoning packets.

Use freshly shredded cheese when possible for the smoothest melt.

Let baked casseroles rest for 5 to 10 minutes before scooping.

Add a splash of milk, broth, or water if a creamy sauce thickens too much.

Keep an eye on the top during the last few minutes so cheese melts without burning.

Easy Variations

Add extra vegetables for color and texture.

Use a different cheese blend for a sharper or creamier finish.

Add red pepper flakes, hot sauce, or Cajun seasoning for heat.

Top baked dishes with cracker crumbs, breadcrumbs, or extra cheese.

Use rotisserie chicken or pre-cooked sausage when it fits the recipe.

What to Serve with It

Serve this with a simple green salad, roasted vegetables, garlic bread, steamed broccoli, fruit, coleslaw, or rice. Keep the sides easy so the main dish stays the focus.

Storage and Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven until hot. Creamy recipes may need a splash of milk or broth to loosen the sauce.

Recipe Notes

Pro-Tip: Do not skip the resting period at the very end! Letting the potatoes sit with the slow cooker off allows the starchy cheese sauce to set up and cling perfectly to every single slice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this ahead?

Yes. Most of the prep can be done earlier in the day. Keep it covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook or bake.

Can I freeze leftovers?

Some creamy recipes soften a little after freezing, but many casseroles and pasta dishes can be frozen in airtight portions.

How do I know when it is done?

The dish should be hot throughout, bubbling at the edges if baked, and any meat should be cooked to a safe internal temperature.

Can I change the seasoning?

Absolutely. Add garlic, onion, herbs, pepper, paprika, or heat to match your taste.

1 package Fudge Stripe shortbread cookies about 20-24 cookies

1 11 oz package caramel bits (or 11 oz unwrapped soft caramels)

3 Tablespoons heavy cream

2 cups sweetened shredded coconut

2 squares chocolate CandiQuik or high-quality dark chocolate melting wafers

Before You Start

Read through the recipe once, gather everything, and prep anything that needs slicing, draining, shredding, or measuring. If the recipe uses pasta, noodles, pierogies, vegetables, or chicken, pay close attention to timing so the final texture stays tender instead of mushy or dry.

How to Make Easy Easy No-Bake Samoa Cookies Recipe

Step 1: Toast the Coconut: Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Spread the shredded coconut evenly across a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes, then stir. Bake for another 5-7 minutes, stir again, and finish baking for a final 3-5 minutes until evenly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Step 2: Prepare the Base: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Arrange the Fudge Stripe shortbread cookies with the striped side facing up (solid chocolate side down), spacing them about 1 to 2 inches apart.

Step 3: Melt the Caramel: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel bits and heavy cream. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir well. Return to the microwave for an additional 15-20 seconds. Stir until the caramel is completely smooth and velvety.

Step 4: Mix the Topping: Immediately fold the toasted coconut into the melted caramel mixture until the coconut is thoroughly and evenly coated.

Step 5: Top the Cookies: Working quickly before the caramel sets, spoon about one tablespoon of the coconut-caramel mixture onto the top of each Fudge Stripe cookie. Use your fingers or the back of the spoon to spread the mixture evenly to the edges.

Step 6: Drizzle the Chocolate: In a separate small microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate CandiQuik in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth. Transfer the melted chocolate to a sandwich bag, seal it, and snip a very small corner off the tip. Drizzle the chocolate back and forth across the tops of the cookies.

Step 7: Set and Serve: Allow the chocolate drizzle and caramel to set completely at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes before serving. Store in an airtight container separated by parchment paper.

2 pounds beef stew meat cut into 1- to 1 1/2-inch cubes

2 10.5-ounce cans condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 1-ounce packet dry onion soup mix

1/2 cup water

Read through the recipe once, gather everything, and prep anything that needs slicing, draining, shredding, or measuring. If the recipe uses pasta, noodles, pierogies, vegetables, or chicken, pay close attention to timing so the final texture stays tender instead of mushy or dry.

How to Make Baked Creamy Mushroom Beef Recipe

Step 1: Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch glass casserole dish with a bit of oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Add Beef: Spread the raw beef stew meat evenly in the bottom of the glass casserole dish, breaking up any pieces that are stuck together so they cook evenly.

Step 3: Mix Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, and water until mostly smooth. It doesn’t need to be perfect-just well combined so the flavors are distributed.

Step 4: Pour Sauce: Pour the cream of mushroom soup mixture evenly over the raw beef stew meat in the glass casserole dish, making sure all the meat is coated. Use a spatula or spoon to gently nudge the sauce into the corners and around the edges if needed.

Step 5: Cover: Cover the glass casserole dish tightly with aluminum foil to trap moisture and help the beef become tender as it bakes.

Step 6: Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the beef is very tender when pierced with a fork and the sauce has thickened into a creamy gravy. Avoid uncovering frequently, as that releases steam and can slow down the cooking.

Step 7: Stir: Carefully remove the casserole dish from the oven and take off the foil, watching out for hot steam. Give the beef and sauce a gentle stir to re-coat the pieces and even out the texture of the gravy.

Step 8: Rest & Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if desired (the onion soup mix is salty, so you may not need additional salt). Let the dish rest for about 5 minutes, then serve the creamy mushroom beef over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

Pro-Tip: If your gravy appears too thin after baking, simply leave the foil off and return the dish to the oven for an additional 15 minutes to let the excess liquid naturally evaporate and thicken!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this ahead?

Yes. Most of the prep can be done earlier in the day. Keep it covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook or bake.

Can I freeze leftovers?

How do I know when it is done?

The dish should be hot throughout, bubbling at the edges if baked, and any meat should be cooked to a safe internal temperature.

Can I change the seasoning?

Absolutely. Add garlic, onion, herbs, pepper, paprika, or heat to match your taste.

The Base:

1 can 8 oz / 225g refrigerated crescent roll dough

The Savory Filling:

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 small yellow onion finely diced

2 cloves garlic minced

1/2 lb 250g lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10)

1 cup fresh mushrooms cremini or white button, finely chopped

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp dried thyme

The Creamy Finish:

1/4 cup cream cheese softened

1/2 cup shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or gruyere blend

Before You Start

Read through the recipe once, gather everything, and prep anything that needs slicing, draining, shredding, or measuring. If the recipe uses pasta, noodles, pierogies, vegetables, or chicken, pay close attention to timing so the final texture stays tender instead of mushy or dry.

How to Make Easy Beef and Mushroom Crescent Cups Recipe

Step 1: Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8-cup standard muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray to ensure easy removal.

Step 2: Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforations into 8 triangles. Gently press one triangle into each prepared muffin cup, forming a sturdy base with the edges slightly overlapping the top. Set aside.

Step 3: Sauté Aromatics: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4: Brown the Meat: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook for 5-6 minutes, breaking the meat apart into crumbles with a wooden spoon, until fully browned. (Drain excess grease if using a fattier cut of beef).

Step 5: Cook the Mushrooms: Stir the finely chopped mushrooms into the beef mixture. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, ensuring that any liquid released by the mushrooms fully evaporates. This step is crucial to prevent soggy pastry cups.

Step 6: Season and Thicken: Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried thyme over the meat mixture. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the softened cream cheese until it is completely melted and smoothly coats the filling. Remove the skillet from the heat.

Step 7: Assemble the Cups: Evenly distribute the creamy beef and mushroom filling among the 8 crescent dough cups. Top each cup generously with the shredded cheese.

Step 8: Bake: Place the muffin tin on the center rack of the oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and deeply golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Step 9: Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the cups to cool in the tin for exactly 5 minutes. This helps the cheese set and prevents the cups from falling apart. Carefully lift them out and serve warm.

           Cook: 30 min |
           Total: 40 min

Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

The Base:

1 can 8 oz / 225g refrigerated crescent roll dough

The Savory Filling:

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 small yellow onion finely diced

2 cloves garlic minced

1/2 lb 250g lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10)

1 cup fresh mushrooms cremini or white button, finely chopped

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp dried thyme

The Creamy Finish:

1/4 cup cream cheese softened

1/2 cup shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or gruyere blend

Instructions

Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8-cup standard muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray to ensure easy removal.

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforations into 8 triangles. Gently press one triangle into each prepared muffin cup, forming a sturdy base with the edges slightly overlapping the top. Set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Brown the Meat: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook for 5-6 minutes, breaking the meat apart into crumbles with a wooden spoon, until fully browned. (Drain excess grease if using a fattier cut of beef).

Cook the Mushrooms: Stir the finely chopped mushrooms into the beef mixture. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, ensuring that any liquid released by the mushrooms fully evaporates. This step is crucial to prevent soggy pastry cups.

Season and Thicken: Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried thyme over the meat mixture. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the softened cream cheese until it is completely melted and smoothly coats the filling. Remove the skillet from the heat.

Assemble the Cups: Evenly distribute the creamy beef and mushroom filling among the 8 crescent dough cups. Top each cup generously with the shredded cheese.

Bake: Place the muffin tin on the center rack of the oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and deeply golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the cups to cool in the tin for exactly 5 minutes. This helps the cheese set and prevents the cups from falling apart. Carefully lift them out and serve warm.

2 cans 8 oz each refrigerated crescent roll dough

3 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced

1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

3 oz cream cheese softened

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley optional

Optional Topping:

1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

1 tbsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds

Before You Start

Read through the recipe once, gather everything, and prep anything that needs slicing, draining, shredding, or measuring. If the recipe uses pasta, noodles, pierogies, vegetables, or chicken, pay close attention to timing so the final texture stays tender instead of mushy or dry.

How to Make Easy Creamy Chicken & Swiss Crescent Ring Recipe

Step 1: Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix Filling: In a mixing bowl combine the cooked chicken, shredded Swiss cheese, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until everything is evenly combined.

Step 3: Arrange Dough: Separate crescent dough into triangles. Arrange them in a circle on the baking sheet, with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the points facing outward, forming a sun-like shape.

Step 4: Add Filling: Spoon the chicken mixture in a ring over the wide ends of the dough.

Step 5: Form the Ring: Fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling and tuck them underneath the center of the ring. The filling should be mostly covered while still showing slightly between the dough sections.

Step 6: Add Topping: Brush the dough with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired.

Step 7: Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Step 8: Cool & Serve: Let the ring cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Pro-Tip: If you notice the tips of your crescent dough browning too quickly in the oven before the center is fully baked, simply tent a piece of aluminum foil loosely over the top of the ring for the final 5 to 10 minutes of baking!

3 to 4 pounds bone-in chicken pieces legs, thighs, or bone-in breasts, skin on

1 10.5-ounce can condensed cream of chicken soup

1 1-ounce packet dry onion soup mix

Before You Start

Read through the recipe once, gather everything, and prep anything that needs slicing, draining, shredding, or measuring. If the recipe uses pasta, noodles, pierogies, vegetables, or chicken, pay close attention to timing so the final texture stays tender instead of mushy or dry.

How to Make 3-Ingredient Baked Onion Chicken Recipe

Step 1: Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Set out a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.

Step 2: Prep Chicken: Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels. This helps the skin brown and keeps the sauce from getting too watery. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the glass baking dish, skin side up, with a little space between pieces if possible.

Step 3: Mix Sauce: In a medium bowl, stir together the condensed cream of chicken soup and the dry onion soup mix until well combined. It will be thick and speckled with onion bits.

Step 4: Coat Chicken: Spoon or pour the soup mixture evenly over the chicken pieces, spreading it so each piece is well coated. The bottom of the dish will have some sauce around the chicken, which will turn into a rich glaze as it bakes.

Step 5: First Bake (Covered): Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and place it on the middle rack of the preheated oven. Bake covered for 45 minutes. This helps the chicken cook through and stay juicy while the flavors soak in.

Step 6: Baste: After 45 minutes, carefully remove the foil (watch for steam). Baste the chicken by spooning some of the pan sauce over the tops of the pieces. Return the dish to the oven, uncovered.

Step 7: Second Bake (Uncovered): Continue baking, uncovered, for another 25 to 35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through, the skin is golden, and the onion soup glaze is bubbling and starting to caramelize around the edges. The internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken should reach at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). (Optional: If you’d like the top a bit more browned, you can move the dish up one rack for the last 5 to 10 minutes, keeping a close eye so the glaze doesn’t burn).

Step 8: Rest & Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5 to 10 minutes. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools. Spoon the caramelized onion glaze over the chicken when serving, making sure each portion gets some of the rich juices from the bottom of the dish.

Pro-Tip: Serve this intensely savory, saucy chicken over a large bed of fluffy white rice, buttery egg noodles, or homemade mashed potatoes. You will absolutely want a starchy side dish to soak up every last drop of that incredible onion pan gravy!

1 lb 16 oz short pasta (rotini, penne, or shells)

1 lb lean ground beef

2 large bell peppers 1 green, 1 red or yellow, diced

1 jar 24 oz high-quality marinara sauce

1 1/2 cups freshly grated mozzarella cheese

Pantry staples: Salt black pepper, 1 tsp olive oil (optional)

How to Make 5-Ingredient Stuffed Pepper Pasta Recipe

Step 1: Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Step 2: Brown the Meat: In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the pan.

Step 3: Sauté the Peppers: Add the diced bell peppers to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until the peppers are slightly softened but still crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Simmer the Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 3 minutes.

Step 5: Combine: Fold the cooked pasta into the skillet until everything is evenly coated in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.

Step 6: Melt the Cheese: Remove from heat. Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Cover with a lid for 2 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.

Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

1 lb 16 oz short pasta (rotini, penne, or shells)

1 lb lean ground beef

2 large bell peppers 1 green, 1 red or yellow, diced

1 jar 24 oz high-quality marinara sauce

1 1/2 cups freshly grated mozzarella cheese

Pantry staples: Salt black pepper, 1 tsp olive oil (optional)

Instructions

Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Brown the Meat: In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the pan.

Sauté the Peppers: Add the diced bell peppers to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until the peppers are slightly softened but still crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Simmer the Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 3 minutes.

Combine: Fold the cooked pasta into the skillet until everything is evenly coated in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.

Melt the Cheese: Remove from heat. Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Cover with a lid for 2 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.

12 oz wide egg noodles dried

3 cups cooked shredded chicken from rotisserie or leftover chicken

2 cans 10.5 oz each condensed cream of chicken soup

2 cups whole milk

Before You Start

Read through the recipe once, gather everything, and prep anything that needs slicing, draining, shredding, or measuring. If the recipe uses pasta, noodles, pierogies, vegetables, or chicken, pay close attention to timing so the final texture stays tender instead of mushy or dry.

How to Make Easy Creamy Chicken Noodle Casserole Recipe

Step 1: Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch glass baking dish so the noodles don’t stick and the edges can get golden and bubbly.

Step 2: Boil Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook for 2 minutes less than the package directions (you want them just shy of al dente so they don’t get mushy in the oven). Drain well and set aside.

Step 3: Mix Sauce: While the noodles cook, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup and the milk in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. This is your simple sauce-no extra seasonings needed unless you want them.

Step 4: Add Chicken: Stir the shredded cooked chicken into the soup and milk mixture until the chicken is evenly coated and there are no dry spots.

Step 5: Combine: Add the drained egg noodles to the bowl and gently fold everything together until the noodles and chicken are evenly coated in the creamy sauce. Take your time here so you don’t break up the noodles too much.

Step 6: Transfer to Dish: Transfer the mixture to the prepared 9×13-inch glass baking dish, spreading it out into an even layer. Use the back of a spoon to nudge some noodles and chicken toward the edges so they can get those golden, slightly crisp bits as they bake.

Step 7: First Bake (Covered): Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, until the casserole is hot and bubbling around the edges.

Step 8: Second Bake (Uncovered): Carefully remove the foil and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the top and edges are lightly golden and some noodles on top look just a bit toasted. The sauce should be bubbling up around the sides of the dish.

Step 9: Rest & Serve: Let the casserole rest on the counter for about 10 minutes before serving. This helps it set up slightly so the creamy sauce clings to the noodles and the pieces scoop out neatly, just like that picture-perfect glass dish at a potluck table.

Pro-Tip: If your cooked chicken was unseasoned, add a generous pinch of freshly cracked black pepper and half a teaspoon of garlic powder to the soup and milk mixture before combining it with the noodles for an extra boost of savory flavor!
